FSL Women’s Leadership and Development Panel featuring women leaders from TCU campus and our surrounding Fort Worth community. All sorority presidents, sorority RAs, sorority advisors and council executives are welcome to participate. Seating is limited please RSVP as soon as possible to ensure your seat reservation.
Confirmed Panelists:
Dr. Estee Hernández – John V. Roach Honors College, CRES, Kappa Delta Chi Sorority Inc. National President
Dr. Hernández has over ten years of experience in student affairs and in areas like residential life, service-learning, TRiO programs, DEI, and student leadership. Now as a faculty member, her research focuses on faculty and graduate student diversity. She and her family emigrated from Mexico when she was very young and now considers herself a proud Valley Girl from Brownsville, Texas. The oldest of three siblings, she is a first-generation high school graduate, college graduate, and PhD.
Dr. Erin Wilson – Senior Director, First Year Experience
Dr. Erin Wilson, Founder & Principal Consultant at Design Ideal Consulting, is deeply passionate about educating people on how to use Relationship Intelligence to build indestructible teams and help individuals harness their strengths to design their ideal.
Dr. Wilson uses her many years of experience in leadership, learning & development and community engagement to develop and facilitate energetic and engaging trainings and coaching. She also serves as Senior Director, First Year Experience at Texas Christian University, a private research university in Fort Worth, Texas. In this role, Dr. Wilson provides strategic oversight for departments that are responsible for the development, implementation and evaluation of a comprehensive first year experience to orient students to college life.
She is no stranger to learning and development, is a certified Core Strengths Partner and has done numerous team-building and development, coaching, training and facilitation sessions for organizations, leadership programs and universities all over the country. Erin received her doctorate in Organizational Leadership with a Higher Education concentration and has an educational background in political science and a master’s in human development and leadership.
She has been recognized on many occasions for her outgoing personality, vivacious smile and her passion for mentoring mentor young women. In her spare time, she loves to travel with her husband, and enjoys learning about meerkats.
Laura Miller – Veritex Community Bank, Chi Omega National President
Laura Miller is a 1979 magna cum laude graduate of TCU with a degree in marketing. While at TCU, Laura served as both Vice President & President of the Student Body and was elected Homecoming Queen. She has served on the Board of Trustees at TCU and as President of the National Alumni Association Board. Professionally, Laura is the Fort Worth President of Veritex Bank. She is currently serving as National President of Chi Omega. Laura ‘s husband, Tod, along with her 2 sons and 2 daughters-in-law are all TCU graduates and she is counting on her 5 grandchildren to follow in the family tradition!
Rev. Lea McCracken – Associate Chaplain and Church Relations Officer
Rev. McCracken is an ordained minister in The Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), the denomination that founded TCU. As Associate Chaplain, she is a pastoral presence to TCU students, faculty, and staff. Lea also offers leadership and development training, spiritual and religious resources, and programming centered on finding meaning, purpose, and belonging for the campus community. As Church Relations Officer, she nurtures the ties between TCU and the Disciples of Christ denomination. This role includes connecting our TCU students with area congregations, communicating with our Disciples alumna/e, and serving as the presence of TCU to the denomination. Prior to coming to TCU in 2016, she spent over twelve years in congregational ministry and hospital chaplaincy. She is an alumna of the Religion Department at TCU and earned her Master of Divinity from Vanderbilt University.
