Swooned with favoritism towards foreign culture, mindset and outlook of life, Nhu, our 20-year-old protagonist, regards Vietnamese culture as “old-fashioned”, “outdated”, and “boring”. The indifference towards Vietnamese culture was emphasized through her intense relationship with her mother, Ngoc, who cherishes Vietnam, its cultural values and especially, Ao Dai, the symbol of the Vietnamese feminine beauty as well as the pride of Vietnamese people. An incident brought Nhu back to the 1990s, when she met her mother, who was the same age as Nhu right now.
Through the ups and downs with her mother, now her friend, what will be unveiled? Will she still keep her viewpoint of Vietnam, or will something change? Come to see #CHIASMA this April and join Nhu’s journey of discovering “Retro Vietnam”, Vietnamese fashion and herself. Some information of AVN is presented as below:
