The AddRan Festival of Undergraduate Scholarship & Creativity

Wednesday Apr 6 | 9:30 am - 9:30 am

Mark your calendars! The AddRan Festival of Undergraduate Scholarship & Creativity is back in-person this April!! We encourage you to submit your creative student work for presentation. The atmosphere is designed to mirror a professional academic conference with a very supportive, and intellectually curious, setting.

There are three main categories of works.

  • a) (Traditional) Oral Presentation followed by a question and answer period
  • b) Creative Writing Presentation: Present your poetry or prose
  • c) Paper Contest: Submit your original, individual, paper from a class (this semester or previous)

In addition, a work in any of the above categories may also be submitted as part of the Middle East Studies Contest.

Speaking of contests, there are multiple cash prizes in each of the categories. The amount of planned prize money is nearly double what it was in prior AddRan Festivals.

Below are more details about the Festival.

  • You may, however, also submit a proposal to present your paper findings in a traditional presentation
  • Presentations, both Traditional & Creative Writing:
  • Presentations will be organized into roughly 90 minutes sessions
  • Each session will include about 4 student presenters with similar topic interests
  • Each student presenter will have about 15-20 minutes for their presentation
  • Faculty chairs and other students will provide friendly questions and commentary

All in all

It’s a great way to share your work and interests in a friendly, supportive, environment!
