Entre Nosotros (Between Us): Breaking the Silence Around Alcohol & Substance Use in Our Communities

As we celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month, we’re also making space for the conversations that can be difficult to have within our own communities.

There are things we talk about in our families—and things everyone knows but nobody says out loud.

Join Student Identity & Engagement for Entre Nosotros, an honest conversation about alcohol and substance use in Latino/a/x households and communities. Together, we’ll explore how culture, family dynamics, stigma, and expectations can shape the way we recognize, talk about, and respond to substance use.

We’ll discuss the impact substance use can have on families and relationships, why naming the problem can sometimes be difficult, setting healthy boundaries, recognizing safety concerns, supporting people we care about, and knowing when it may be necessary to step away from an unsafe situation.
