Our keynote speaker is Dr. Velma P. Scantlebury, the first African American female transplant surgeon in the United States. She will be discussing the critical shortage of organ and tissue donation, and the need for increased awareness of the rising incidence of kidney disease. LiftGift will be present to sign individuals up for the organ donation list.

Chi Eta Phi Sorority, Inc. is a national organization of registered professional nurses and nursing students founded, October 16, 1932. Undergraduate nursing students are eligible to apply for membership in the Lambda Eta Alpha Beta Chapter, chartered in December 2012, at TCU. Members are actively engaged in events on campus and in the community which include participation in health fairs, distribution of health education information, collection drives for shelters, and collaborating with other organizations. Chi Eta Phi is an internationally recognized leader in developing healthy communities through advocacy, collaboration, education, leadership, research, and service. This professional organization serves to develop a corps of nursing leaders, encourage continuing education, develop working relationships with other professional groups, and serve the community. The members are committed to the motto, Service for Humanity.
