Monday, February 16, 6-7pm. Scharbauer Hall 3004. The Department of Modern Language Studies and the MOLA Language Clubs invite the TCU community to celebrate Carnival!, a vibrant Language, Food, and Culture Festival. Through hands-on activities, global treats, and a paper‑mâché workshop, participants will create sculptures, masks, and garlands inspired by traditions that align with the lunar calendar—from French Carnaval, Mardi Gras, German Karneval, and Italian Carnevale to Lunar New Year celebrations around the world. The event offers a unique opportunity to foster intercultural creativity, global exploration, and community connection.

About Modern Language Studies Department

The Department of Modern Language Studies teaches Chinese, French, German, Italian and Japanese as well as the cultures and literatures of the countries where these languages are spoken. Studying a language involves not only communication, but also understanding cultures, connecting with other disciplines, learning to compare linguistic and cultural traditions, and appreciating the role of language in our global community.
