Trauma-Sensitive Yoga Group (1)

Trauma-Sensitive Yoga Group

Thursday Sep 17 | 10:00 am - 11:00 am

The Trauma-Sensitive Yoga Group is open to students and is an 8 week series from September 17th – November 5th. The group will meet Thursdays 10am-11am via Zoom. There is a Rec Center room available for social distanced use.

Yoga practices will be accessible to all levels and abilities, with chair and mat variations offered for each posture, and a range of options and modifications offered.

The practices will also be trauma-sensitive, which includes:
– participants will always have the choice of how and whether they participate
– participants will always be offered a way to give themselves a pause and return to practice as they are ready

The class will be led by Professor Brandy Quinn, from the TCU College of Education, who is also a registered 500-hour yoga teacher. She will teach the class via Zoom, and students will be able to take the class from any space they would like.

Email l.lotz@tcu.edu at the TCU Counseling Center for more information and the Zoom link to join.
