TCU International Justice Mission
Threads is a pop-up thrift shop to end slavery with the proceeds going towards International Justice Mission Southeast Asia.
International Justice Mission’s annual pop-up thrift shop! We’re selling clothes to raise money for anti-human trafficking efforts in Southeast Asia! Every dollar we raise will be used to fund rescue operations, legal cases, and restorative programs for survivors. Plus, we get to actively practice the sustainable habit of recycle clothes and reducing the demand for cheaply made, often exploitative clothing.
International Justice Mission is the largest nonprofit organization in the world dedicated to combating human trafficking. Here at TCU, we fundraise and advocate to directly support rescue missions, justice system reform, and survivor care at IJM’s field office in Delhi, India.
Our first big fundraising campaign of the semester, Threads, will be on Saturday, October 9, from 11am-4pm on the second floor of the King Family Commons building. It will be an on-campus pop-up thrift shop selling entirely donated clothes with all proceeds going to IJM’s Delhi operations. The idea behind holding a thrift shop is that we will be reselling clothes to stop the cycle of forced labor in fast fashion and reduce environmental waste, while also supporting IJM’s direct efforts to combat forced labor.
Come out and shop, find a new stellar outfit and join us in the fight against human trafficking!
Also, if you have clothes you would like to donate, you can fill out our Google Form and one of our chapter’s officers will reach out to collect your items. We will accept all clothes in decent condition, except for socks and underwear.
