Back the Blue Barbecue Fundraiser for Assist the Officer Fort Worth

Wednesday Mar 28 | 4:30 pm - 7:30 pm

From 4:30 pm to 7:30 pm on Wednesday, March 28th, TCU Police Department and Shield 616 are hosting a reception in the Dee. J Kelly Center. The reception is coordinated by the TCU College Republicans, as it is part of the group’s Back the Blue Week. This reception is a fundraiser for Assist the Officer Fort Worth, a local non-profit organization that provides financial assistance to law enforcement officers and their families who have made the ultimate sacrifice for their communities.

Barbecue is provided by Railhead Smokehouse, and there is a minimum donation fee of $5 for guests who would like to eat some barbecue – no donation fee is necessary for law enforcement officials. Those that donate will be given a Back the Blue wristband. The proceeds will go to Assist the Officer Fort Worth and if guests desire to donate additionally to the minimum donation fee, they may certainly do so at the Back the Blue Barbecue, or with the Pay-Pal link attached below. To spread the message of law enforcement appreciation, TCU College Republicans has invited several distinguished guests including elected officials, Tarrant County Sheriff Waybourn, members of the Fort Worth and TCU Police Departments, and the TCU community.

Attention all law enforcement supporters!

TCU College Republicans is hosting a Back the Blue Week from Monday, March 26th through Wednesday, March 28th. The purpose of the Back the Blue Week is to offer students, faculty, staff, and the community opportunities to meet and make friends with both university and local police forces.

On Monday, March 26, we will be tabling to spread the appreciation for our men and women in blue.

On Tuesday, March 27, we will be offering free coffee and donuts to students, faculty, and staff that would like to meet and chat with TCU Police Officers.

On Wednesday, March 28, we are coordinating a fundraising event for Assist the Officer Fort Worth that is hosted by TCU Police Department and Shield 616. More information about the Back the Blue Barbecue Fundraiser is available on the What2Do@TCU posting “Back the Blue Barbecue Fundraiser.”
