Empowered to Talk About It

Empowered to Talk About It: Key Tools for Addressing Alcohol, Marijuana, Interpersonal Violence and Suicide Risk

Wednesday Apr 10 | 8:30 am - 4:30 pm

High-risk alcohol use, high-risk marijuana use, interpersonal violence, and suicide risk. These issues can easily escalate throughout the college experience, but early detection and intervention can alter a student’s trajectory and increase the likelihood of student success.

Join this interactive workshop with the University of Washington’s Dr. Jason Kilmer and Shannon Bailie, MSW to learn how to:

recognize risk indicators in students
confidently address the risk indicators directly with students
effectively connect students to more specialized interventions
strategically interweave Motivational Interviewing into your everyday conversation
Breakfast and lunch provided by Student Affairs.
